I had her name as Wilma Rae, but 1915 Kansas state census lists her as Wilma M. and cem record lists her as Wilma Mae.
Listed with her parents in Ellis, KS in 1940 at 28, with two yrs of college and working as a secretary in a Dr’s office.
Had Secretarial training and worked as a business manager for a medical group in Hays. Had bone cancer following a mastectomy for breast cancer, but died from a head injury in a fall due to being weak from the cancer - cerebral embolus. Was unmarried at the time.

DIES IN HAYS
Burial will be at 5:30 p.m. today at Mount Muncie Cemetery for Miss Wilma Ruttan, 43, who died Friday at Hays. She was associated with the Hays Medical clinic for many years. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ida Ruttan, and a sister, Miss Gertrude Ruttan, of Lawrence. Her grandfather was the late Henry Sacks of near Oak Mills. The Ruttan family formerly lived at Oak Mills.
