Married Mary A. Roberts (b. Dec. 5 1835 d. Aug. 27 1906 ) according to Descendants of Brittain Tallman from Wayne Co Hist Soc, based on book by Ruth Allen Smith and Little York cemetery records. Listed as S.E. Stanton (47), a farmer in 1880 with his wife Mary (43) and daughters Hattie (15) and Rosie (7).
Mary suffered a slight stroke in July 1908 and never fully recovered.
Daughter Jennie "Jane" (b. 1858) married George W. Howell, and daughter Hattie E. (1864-1960) married Urban E. Howell. Daughter Rose E. b. 17 Oct 1874, d. 15 Jul 1903.
