[Obituary]
Larry J. Richter, 72, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away after an extended illness on February 17, 2016. He was born to Leo and Thelma (Wells) Richter on July 15, 1943 in Mansfield.
Larry graduated from Lexington High School and then went to work for, and later retired from, Sprint as an engineer for over 30 years. He also worked with Mansfield Aircraft Products and Richland Engineering for many years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Chapter B & V of the GWRRA and the MOHOG (Mid Ohio Harley Owners Group) in Mansfield. He was also a member of the All Believers in Christ Church. Larry’s passion in life, other than his family, was riding his Harley with his ROMEO(Retired Old Men Eating Out) buddies. A favorite hobby was bowling, where he could beat anyone, even after losing part of his leg. Larry was also a loyal NASCAR fan. He enjoyed and taught country western dancing
Larry loved the Lord and his family. His two boys meant the world to him. He had an amazing sense of humor, and was very active; he could never sit still. He was even more active after retirement. He was a self taught perfectionist, and the ultimate handyman.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Pam (Mellick) Richter; his sons, Michael (Sherri) Richter, and Brian (Tracy) Richter; five grandchildren, Jessica, Anjelina, Kristin, Justin, and Brandon; one brother, Robert (Bonnie) Richter, one sister Patricia (Cecil) Hammon; and several nieces and nephews.
