Son Bradley lived with her, but he drives trucks and was gone a lot.

LEXINGTON - Barbara Hoffman, 75, passed away on Friday morning, March 27, 2009 in Hospice House of North Central Ohio.
Barbara was born on December 9, 1933 in Mansfield to Chester and Margery (Maxwell) Hawkins and graduated from Lexington High School.
On July 26, 1958 she married Nevada J. Hoffman. Barb worked at both Tappan and as a clerk at Readmore Book Store.
Family oriented, she enjoyed cooking and sewing clothes and blankets. She often shared these precious gifts with her children and grandchildren at Christmas; her favorite holiday. She loved to travel, especially with family. Barb was proud to have vacationed among the continuous 48 states, her favorite being North Carolina's Outer Banks. From the Grand Canyon to Maine, she cherished the countless memories and moments shared together with her beloved husband and children.
In her spare time Barb collected teddy bears, wind chimes, and all kinds of lighthouses. She also enjoyed reading romance novels.
The strength of the family, Barb's focus was her husband and children. Gifted with a larger than life heart she accepted everyone. Barb will be remembered for her love of children and her gentle nature.
Barbara is survived by her son, Brad Hoffman of Lexington; son, Chester Hoffman and Janey Phillips both of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jeff Arnold of Fredericktown; son, Lance Hoffman of Mansfield; grandchildren, Tabitha and Ray Wilson, Joshua Arnold, Jessica Lynch, Tyler Arnold, Justin and Josh Phillips, Mary Ellen Hoffman, and Dava Dawson; great grandchildren, Ashley and Emma Arnold, Michaela and Jamie Wilson, Justin Phillips, Jr., Ember Phillips, and Austin and Clara Phillips; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Doug Weber of Galion; and a sister, Patricia Grubb of Cleveland.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nevada J. Hoffman, who passed away on June 12, 1999; and a brother-in-law, David Grubb.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Oak Grove Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Heckard officiating. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

LEXINGTON
Nevada J. Hoffman, 60, of 3843 U.S. 42 South died Saturday evening, June 12, 1999, in Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus after a short illness. Hoffman retired from Empire Detroit Steel with 30 years of service as a pipe shop foreman and the past five years was driving a truck for Wooster Motor Ways. He was an avid NASCAR Racing fan and collected lighthouses.
He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Robert F. Castor VFW Post 5101 of Lexington and served in the US Navy Reserves.
He is survived by his wife Barbara E. Hawkins Hoffman whom he married July 26, 1958; three sons, Lance D. Hoffman and Nevada Bradley James Hoffman both of Lexington and Chester B. Hoffman and his fiancee Janey C. Phillips of Mansfield, a daughter and son-in-law Paula Lee and Jeffrey Allen Arnold of Johnsville. His mother-in-law and father-in-law Chester and Margery Hawkins of Lexington, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law David Patricia Grubb of Lynhurst and Allen D. Maxine Weber of Galion. Three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Howard B. Hoffman. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday morning, June 15, 1999, at 11 AM at Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington with the Rev. Canon David S. Sipes officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoc. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
