Born 22 Jan 1864 and middle name appeared to be Blinglun in Melva's bible. His middle name was Benjamin (i.e. B. F. = Benjamin Franklin Moats) according to his death certificate which also shows his birth as 22 Feb 1864, consistent with the 1900 census.
Was listed as 5 in the Aug 1870 census, which shows Woodford (61) and Hariet (62) Galoway (grandparents) taking care of Ida Ellen and Frank, their grandchildren.
Listed by himself, age 17, working as a laborer for another family in 1880.
Marriage record 13 Jan 1885 lists him as B. F. Moats marrying Ella King, and is also listed in the 1808-1890 Marriage Index by Delauder (OGS Library).
He is listed as Frank Moats in Adair Co, Iowa in the 1900 census as a farmer, born Feb 1866 OH. He is with his wife Ellen b. Sep 1867 OH, married 16 yrs with both of their two children. At the time his sons were teens and he owned his own farm with a mortgage.
Mollie Wells said they stopped and visited the Moats family in Iowa on a trip to Ohio one time.
He was pictured with his wife, Ella, and sister Ida Ellen in the family photo of Joseph Miller Wells and their kids in Sept 1907 (Dick Wells has original from Iva Wells). He was mentioned in an obituary when his sister Ida Ellen died in 1908.
He is listed as B. F. Moats, age 56 b. in OH, in the 1920 census for Bridgewater, IA with only his wife Ellen (54).
His death certificate lists him as a widower of Orilla Moats, son of Marion Moats and Amanda(?) Galloway. He died of a cerebral vascular accident, arteriosclerosis, senility, and senile dementia in the County Home after 10 months there. The information was provided by his son Elmer.

Her father was Jess King (b. OH). She is listed as Ella on their marriage certificate, but Ellen in all the census records and her death cert, and Orilla on her husbands death certificate. She lived 12 years in this location before her death, and died of arteriosclerosis and cardiac insufficiency.
