Living in Chicago, Illinois in 1905 and in 1908 (father's obit).
On 27 May 1912 he was (re)married to Anna Kielpenski (34, OH) in Chicago, although the marriage record lists his name as Wills.

Listed in Chicago in 1920 as Fred H. Wells, working as a clerk (46, OH) for the railroad, with his wife Anna (47, OH) and her father Jacob Kielpenski (80, POL) who had immigrated in 1873 and become naturalized in 1887.
Chicago death records list him as Fred H. Wells.
It is unknown at this point as to what became of his first wife.

She is listed with her parents in the 1880 census of Truro, Franklin Co, OH; listed as Abora S. (9, POL). Her parents are then listed alone in the 1900 census for Marion, Franklin Co, OH, before her mother died in 1906.
In the 1920 Chicago census her father Jacob Kielpenski (1840 POL - 1923 Chicago ) was living with Anna (47, OH) and husband Fred Wells. It states Jacob immigrated in 1873 and became naturalized in 1887.
After her husband’s death, Anna Wells is listed in the 1930 census as a hotel waitress (43, OH), widowed and a lodger with William and Grace Phillips.
She was remarried to Fred Evans as Anna Wells in 1931, not long before her death in Chicago in 1937.
