Charles S. Rice, 88, of Findlay and formerly of Mansfield, died at 2:30 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2008 at The Heritage, Findlay. He was born on April 17, 1920 in Danville, OH to the late Clinton "Buck" and Edna (Steinmetz) Rice. He married Barbara Ann Aungst on September 28, 1947 and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Clinton R. "Buck" (Cindy) Rice of Findlay; a daughter, Jacquie S. (Tim) Weimerskirch of Findlay; grandchildren: Clint, Brett and Amanda Rice; step-great-grandchildren: Jason and Nick Weimerskirch.
Also preceding him in death were sisters: Ruth "Teenie" Hull and Barbara Wolfe.
Charles retired in 1978 from the Ohio State Highway Patrol after 30 years, and also retired from Ryder Truck Line as a safety consultant. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Amvets #31, American Legion #3, VFW #5645 and Moose Lodge #698.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in Bellville Cemetery, Bellville, Ohio, where full military rites will be conducted by the Bellville American Legion Post 535.

FINDLAY: Barbara Ann Rice, age 86, of Findlay passed away at 7:54 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at The Heritage Manor, Findlay. She was born on December 20, 1923, to the late Ross W. and Effa R. (Banks) Aungst in Bellville, OH.
She married Charles S. Rice on September 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2008.
Barbara is survived by a son, Clinton R. "Buck" (Cindy) Rice of Findlay; daughter, Jacquie S. (Tim) Weimerskirch of Findlay; three grandchildren, Clint and Brett Rice both of Findlay and Amanda (Jeff) Snyder of Perrysburg, OH; and two step grandchildren, Jason (Judith) Weimerskirch and Nick Weimerskirch of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Barbara was a homemaker, a loving wife, a caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed golfing with friends and following the "Big Ten", especially The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Bellville Cemetery, Bellville, OH. Visitation will be held from 2- 4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Reverend Ken Kinley will officiate.
