Misc. Notes
the 1900 census lists his birth as March 1852, but in 1910 he is listed as 59, and in Jan 1920 he is listed as 68, and his headstone or cemetery record lists it as 1851. So most of the records list his birth as 1851, except for the 1900 census; and that is what I show.
It appears that he is the son of Jacob Rinehart, who moved the family to Indiana about 1852 and is listed as a farmer (44, PA) with his wife Luhann (32, OH) and 6 children in the 1860 census for Franklin Co, IN; and then the 1870 census for Rush Co, IN. In those records, James is listed as James E. Rinehart and James E. Rhinehart.
James married his first wife, Josephine Wilson (1850, OH) at age 22 and had three children: Myrtle b. 22 Jun 1875, Charles Ross b. 8 Oct 1876 and Lois Alfretta b. 7 Apr 1878. He is listed as a wagonmaker with her and the two youngest children in the 1880 census for Union Co, OH; indicating that Myrtle died as a child.
He either divorced Josephine, or she died, as he was remarried to Anna Henney in 1887, with whom he had 5 more children and lived the rest of his life in Morrow Co, OH.
