Caryl, was born September 21, 1925 in Fredericktown to Arthur and Hazel (Algire) Litt.
He graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1943, where he was a member and president of the Future Farmers of America and participated on the high school football team. Caryl won the national Future Farmers of America essay contest. He placed first in breed for his registered Hampshire Hogs and 5th overall, for all breeds at the Ohio Sate Fair his senior year of high school. In November of 1943 Caryl entered the U S Army and served in New Guinea, the Southern Philippines and Luzon. He qualified as rifle marksman and received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 bronze stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze star. Caryl was a proud American and was proud to have served his country during World War Two. He earned his private pilots license and would take aerial photos of individual farms. In his younger years Caryl was involved in construction and was instrumental in the construction of the Norwalk Reservoir and Mansfield Lahm Airport. He was a member of Teamsters Local #40 and had been employed for 30 years as a professional truck driver for Montgomery Wards. Following his retirement Caryl worked as an independent driver for several years. Caryl enjoyed the hobby of woodworking and loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Surviving are four sons Donald Litt of Columbus, Indiana, Douglas (Julie) Litt, Dwayne (Mary) Litt and Dale (Loraine) Litt all of Mansfield; five step-daughters Jackie (Dale) McKitrick of North Baltimore, Sharon (Ralph) Schenk of Bucyrus, Lori Wade of Dayton, Roslyn (Bruce) Fantel of Bucyrus, and Sandee Griffith of Washington Court House; 29 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two brothers Harold Litt of Sebring, Florida and John Litt of Batemantown; and two sisters Julia Doyle and Janet Hogle both of Fredericktown.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Viola Litt, his second wife Alice Litt; and a brother Larry Litt.

Clovis, N.M. - Viola "Vi" Snouffer, 67, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday.... Burial will be in the Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens....
Mrs. Snouffer was born in Knox County, Ohio. She married Edwin E. Snouffer in 1969 at Mansfield, Ohio. They moved to Clovis in 1978.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of the Nile and Keystone Chapter No. 27 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She attended Forest Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Snouffer was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Snouffer Mayfield, in 1994.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Donald Litt of Columbus, Ind., and Douglas Litt, Dwayne Litt and Dale Litt, all of Mansfield, Ohio; two stepsons, Curtis Snouffer of Fort Mill, S.C., and Lee Snouffer of Adelanto, Calif.; two sisters...and 14 grandchildren.
