PVT US Marine Corps - Vietnam
Daniel L. Kempton, of Lytle, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 in Lytle, at the age of 68.
Daniel was born April 3, 1950 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Dewey and Velma Kempton, both who precede him.
He was a graduate of Clear Fork High School Class of 1968, and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving until 1970. While serving two tours in Vietnam from 1969 thru 1970, he received the Purple Heart. Daniel was the proud third generation of his family to serve the United States Armed Forces. He continued to serve his country working in civil service at Lackland Air Force Base for 32 years.
Daniel was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to fish and hunt, as well as travel and camp. He constructed his home and property himself, finding satisfaction and contentment in construction and woodworking.
Daniel is survived by his son, grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
