Catherine C. Wells, age 93, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born on December 27, 1918 in Mount Vernon and was the daughter of the late George and Bessie (Fry) Brokaw. Catherine was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. She is survived by her beloved niece and caregiver, Jane Metzger of Mount Vernon, nieces and nephews Mike, Cindy, Jeff, Bill, Piper, Patty, Bob (Joyce), Tim, Rick and Steve, great nephews Dave and Ray and a great niece Jackie, great great nephews, Zach, Devin and Scott. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H. Wells in 1981 and three brothers, Carl E., William and Robert Brokaw. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00PM in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown with Pastor Warren Outhwaite officiating. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Wells family.
