Maureen Ziegler died peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a short illness. Born on October 17, 1933 to Ross and Helen Wells, she grew up in Knapp Station. She graduated from Norwood High School and moved to Syracuse, found employment at GE where she worked until she married her husband of 59 years, Lawrence Ziegler.
In 1966 she moved to Massena, NY, raised her family and for 20 years worked at Georgi's Bakery. After retiring from the bakery, she and her husband bought a home on Cross Lake, eventually moving there permanently after living in Massena for 34 years. For the past 4 years, she has resided in Liverpool.
She is predeceased by her parents Ross and Helen, her siblings, Basil, Emmett, Graham, Preston, Glenn, and Wyona.
Surviving are her husband Lawrence Ziegler Jr., daughter Lori (John) and son Jeff (Kerry), 5 grandchildren, Daniel and James Lacitignola, Emily, Lindsey and Jordan Ziegler, several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 am Saturday, December 30, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 Hazel St., Liverpool. Burial will be held in the spring at Liverpool Village Cemetery.
