A carpenter in Batesville in 1887. Was also a member of Sons of Temperance and the Oddfellows secretary.
1900 census lists his birth as Feb, says he was married 38 years, and that they had 4 children - 3 still living. He died a widower of lung congestion, listed as a carpenter. Information was given by his daughter Maggie Carter of Lima OH. Age 86 yrs, 8 days.
