He is not listed with his parents in the Sept census of 1850, but listed as age 10 in the July census of 1860 and 20 in the Aug census of 1870.
By 1880 he had married Mary Atzbach and was a cooper (29, OH) living in Ackley, IA. Her father was also living with them. By 1900 they had 2 sons living with them, and one had died. Henry is listed as a day laborer, born in July 1850 and married 21 yrs.
In 1910 they were living in Union Co, IA, married 30 yrs, where he was a farmer (59, OH) and son Harrison was the only son living with them.
They moved again to Osceola, IA by 1920 and were living alone, with Henry doing farm labor (69, OH). And by 1925 they were still in Franklin Co, but had moved to Geneva Twp, where they were living and not working in 1930 at ages 79 and 74.
