He married Emma Steiner on 16 Aug 1881.
Described as short and chunky with a longhandled mustache.
Had a dau, Eva, then twin sons in 1884 (Boonville) - who died the same day, and Albert in 1886 (Perry) who was put out for adoption.
Dau Eva was raised by Ed Steiner (uncle?) after Charles’ wife Emma Stiner “went off the deep end”.
In 1900 he was living with his cousin, David Ghrist in Kansas, working as a painter.
Charlie went to Mich from Wyondotte Co, KS cause he had some cousins living there and he was living with his cousin David Ghrist and it was time to move on. He was a house painter so he always found work.
In 1940 he is in Lansing, as a widower (84), living with the family of his step-son Frank C. Munn.
He was married a second time to Louise C. Munn in 1907, who died before him and may be buried with him.
