Doris A. Orr died Sunday at 77
Doris Amanda Orr, 77, 123 E. Summit, died Sunday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 11 am Tuesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Dr. Charles R. Boyles will officiate and burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita. A memorial has ben established with the First Christian Church of Augusta.
She married Ernest Orr in 1930. He preceded her in death. She was a retired garment manufacturer from Pryor, Okla. She came to Butler County in 1973. She was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include nieces, Shirley Berner of Cuero, TX, Lillian Goddard of Napavine, WA and Jean Leighton of Simi, CA; a nephew, Larry Thirsk of Security, CO, and a sister-in-law, Pat Thirsk of Augusta.

He generally went by the name Ernest.
In the 1900 Montana census, his birth is listed as Aug 1898 in Kansas.
He is listed as age 11, born in Kansas in 1910 and 21, born in Kansas in the 1920 census. He registered for the WWI Draft as a student in 1918 while living with his mother in Wichita KS. He was in the Army as a Private (student) in Witchita from Oct to Dec 1918, and received the Victory medal.
Listed as W. Ernest Orr in 1930 as single, owner of a filling station in Winfield, KS; a lodger with the Fry family.
By 1940 he was married and living in Texas, where he had a milk route. It says they were living in Arkansas twp, Cowley Co, KS in 1935.
He and wife Amanda had no children. (died before Marion Conrow)

William E. Orr
PRYOR, April 22 (Special)-
Former Tulsan William Ernest Orr, 62, owner and operator of the Cherokee Tog Co., here, died Friday after suffering a heart attack in his home.
Born at Fort Scott, Kan., Mr. Orr lived in Tulsa from 1940 to 1956 when he came to Pryor and established the clothing firm.
He was a member of the Methdoist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his widow, Doris, a stepbrother, a sister and a step-sister.
The Green Funeral Home is in charge.
