Misc. Notes
Second child and son of Emmanuel. Would appear to have been of RI where his first child was born, and not to have come to Monmouth NJ, until about 1687, when his name is first mentioned there in a deed from William Chamberlain, 19 Nov 1687, for his one-half interest in a tract of one hundred acres of land that had been patented to himself and Robert West, and for which a patent was duly issued, in their rights, March 22 1687/8, to Edward Woolley of Shroesberry. Described himself as a "hatter' In deeds given in 1690, and as a "feltmaker," in deeds of 1701; and signed his will Jan 3, 1728/9, which is without date of probate. While in the township of Shrewsbury, he seems to have owned land at Passequenecqua, on Rumson Neck, and to have lived at Manasquan. After living for a time at Shrewsbury, he must have gone back to Rhode Island, where two more of his children were born, in 1692 and 1694, and then have returned to New Jersey, where the balance of his children were born. At least that is the idea to be derived from deeds and from the records of the Quaker Meeting at Shrewsbury.
Anne Pette Miles (Monmouth Co resarcher) listed him as possibly dying in R.I., but may have been confused or mixed it with his birthplace? Her note also mentions an arrival in US (Rhode Island) of 1660, but not sure if it is for Edward or his wife and children.
