Evelyn M. Tallman
Mrs. Evelyn M. Tallman, Mounted Route 6, Terrace St., Honesdaie, died Saturday in Wayne County Memorial Hospital, Honesdaie, following an illness. She was the wife of Guy Tallman Jr. Born in Honesdaie, daughter of Carl F. and Ella M. Swingle Gunwper, she was a lifelong resident of Honesdaie. She was employed by the Amber Lingerie Co., White Mills, and a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdaie. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Donna Olver, Hawley RD, and Mrs. Edward Knehr, Waymart RD 1; a brother, Gerald Gumwper, Honesdaie; two sisters, Mrs. Gerald Hill, Lakeville, and Mrs. Gerald Hessling, Honesdaie; four grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A brother, William, died in 1954.

Guy Tallman
Guy Tallman Jr., Mounted Route 6, Terrace Street, Honesdale, died Monday in Wayne County Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, after an illness. His wife, the former Evelyn M. Gumpper, died Sept. 3, 1977. Born in Jeannette, son of the late Guy and Margaret Bengel Tallman, he resided in Honesdale most of his life. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific and Mid-Eastern Theatres. He was formerly employed at Sherman Mills, Hawley, and later as a truck driver by the John J. Weldner Co. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Donna) Abicht, RD 3, Honesdale; Mrs. Edward (Elaine) Knehr, RD 1 Waymart; a brother, Thomas, Honesdale; a sister, Mrs. Riva Tallman Dorsey, Honesdale; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday from the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St., Honesdale, at 11 a.m. Interment, St. Mary Magdellne Cemetery, Honesdale. Friends may call today, 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m.
