[Obituary]
LOTT: Ernest Edward Lott, age 88, of Swift Current and formerly of Kincaid, passed away May 21, 2015 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. A private family memorial service was held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from the Chapel of Warren’s Funeral Home. Ernie’s ashes were interred at the Kincaid Cemetery. Ernest is survived by his daughter; Brenda (Jim) McClelland; grandchildren Darren (Nicole) McClelland, Derek McClelland and Kimbrin (Cory) Carlson; son; Doug (Darlene) Lott; grandchildren Terry Lott and Corey (Jenna) Lott; great grandchildren Ashley and Hayley McClelland, Jocelyn and Cody McClelland, Tayvin and Kelby Carlson and Lyla Lott. He was predeceased by his wife Viola (nee: Wells) on April 23, 1986; sister Ellen Magee and Esther McCarhty; brothers Jack and Leslie Lott. Ernie was born on August 7, 1926 in Hazenmore, Sk. He attended school in the Kincaid District. On May 24, 1951 he married Viola Wells. Ernie started working with his father in their Dray Business and then worked for various farmers in the Kincaid Area before starting work with the CPR and continued working for 23 years. Following this he began work for the Village of Kincaid. In 2003 Ernie moved into Swift Current where he resided until his passing. He was a member of the Kincaid Plus 50 Club. Ernie enjoyed gardening, fishing, visiting and attending his grandchildren hockey games. Upon moving to Swift Current, he spent every day at his grandson Darren and Nicole’s acreage working in his shop, gardening and helping with yard work. He enjoyed countless hours with his granddaughters at the acreage as well. All of Ernie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He never forgot special occasions or birthdays. He also had a big heart for all kids. Ernie will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. In his memory, memorial donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Warren’s Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
