Misc. Notes
"Catherine Robb came to America with her father, brothers and sisters, probably walking most of the way from St John where they landed. On the way to Baileyville they passed men working on the the road. One of them, Michael Dawson, was smitten with Catherine and the dainty way she lifted her skirt over the puddles, and told the men she was the girl he was going to marry. They were married in Eastport where there was the nearest priest, walking there and back. Michael and Catherine bought land from the Government, or rather from Baileyville on Sept 29, 1834 and had it paid for when mother (Sarah Dawson) was 5 years old. They built a log house which they replaced with the present farm house on the so called Old Farm where I spent so many happy days. The land borders on Meddybemps Lake. Mother was 17 years old when the 'new house' was built." - Mame Sheehan history.
She is listed in 1850 as Catherine Flood (46, IRE) with husband Edward (40, IRE) and Dawson children John (15), Mary (12), Michael (9), Sarah (6), and Dennis (4), along with Edmund Flood (1).

Misc. Notes
Son of Peter Flood, listed variously as Edmond and Edward.
Was an honorably discharged English soldier. Alice Casey had his discharge papers in her possession. Apparently married Catherine thinking he could help to bring up the children. But with two more children of his and Catherine, and with failing health, he was not much help and died of consumption after 1851 when (Mame Sheehan's) mother was about 6 years old.
He is listed in the August 1850 census as a laborer (40, IRE) with his wife, Catherine (46, IRE) and children John Dawson (15), Mary Dawson (12), Michael Dawson (9), Sarah Dawson (6), Dennis Dawson (4), and Edmond Flood (1), all born in Maine.
