1870 County Court records show that legal action was taken against him by Mary Brownlie of Baileyville. “ate all of the farm grasses with his animals” action started Oct 1869, cost = $17.00
In the 1870 census, Thomas and his wife Mary J. seem to be listed for Alexander, ME ages 42 and 35 (off by ~10 yrs) that appear to have been written in later, and six blank lines marked out where their children would be listed. So the census taker may have missed them or intended to follow up and didn’t.
