Calais – Jean Marie Robb, 85, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at a Bangor healthcare center. Jean was born in St. Stephen, NB on May 28, 1927, daughter of the late Philip and Vera (Murphy) Hollingdale. She graduated from Calais Academy, Class of 1944, and furthered her education at Holy Rosary Business College.
Jean worked for the U.S. Employment Service until she married Bernard Robb on June 21, 1948 in Calais. Later she started her career as the City Controller with the City of Calais, retiring with 20 years of service. Jean was a Communicant of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Calais, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality as well as sang in the choir. She enjoyed knitting sweaters, which everyone knew as "Grammie Jean Sweaters", but her most cherished times were those spent with her family.
In addition to her family, Jean was predeceased by her husband Bernard; an infant son Daniel Robb; and two brothers Paul and Philip Hollingdale. Surviving are her ten children, Janice Tollison and her husband Chuck of Waco, TX, Daniel Robb and his wife Brenda of Calais, David Robb and his wife Kathy of St. Augustine, FL, Rona Robb and her companion Joyce Dunphy of Calais, Bernard Robb and his wife Marcy of Pawleys Island, SC, Theresa Porter and her husband Jim of Calais, Mary Jean Redding and her husband Jeff of Calais, Patricia Reynolds and her husband Dana of Meddybemps, Martha Apkarian and her husband Rob of Alton Bay, NH, and Catherine Cartwright and her husband Brian of Veazie; one brother, Daniel Hollingdale and his wife Carol of Robbinston; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Hollingdale of Calais and Jackie Hollingdale of VT; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery.

CALAIS - Bernard Alexander "Bunny" Robb, 88, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Atlantic Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Calais. Bunny was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Baileyville, son of the late Daniel and Florence (Millman) Robb. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a heavy machine gunner with the 380th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II in Rhineland and Central Europe. On June 21, 1948, he married Jean Hollingdale. Bunny worked as a meat cutter in Calais for 37 years, the first 32 years with A&P and the last five years with IGA. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Calais, and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council 149 and Sherman Bros. Post No. 3 American Legion, as well as a former member of Calais Lions Club, St. Croix Bowling Club and St. Croix Country Club. Bunny loved bowling and still held the record for the highest single game with wooden pins in the Eastern Maine Bowling Tournament. He also enjoyed golfing and playing cribbage. His most memorable times were those spent with his wife and family. In addition to his parents, Bunny was predeceased by an infant son, Daniel; four sisters, Anne Turnbull, Gertrude Babel, Mary Frye and Regina Gibson; and three brothers, Leonard, Walter and Philip Robb. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Robb; 10 children, Janice Williams-Tollison and her husband, Chuck, of Waco, Texas, Daniel Robb and his wife, Brenda, of Calais, David Robb and his wife, Cathy, of St. Augustine, Fla., Rona Robb and her friend, Joyce Dunphy, of Calais, Bernard Robb and his wife, Marcy, of Pawleys Island, S.C., Theresa Porter and her husband, Jim, of Calais, Mary Jean Redding and her husband, Jeff, of Calais, Patricia Reynolds and her husband, Dana, of Meddybemps, Martha Apkarian and her husband, Rob, of Alton Bay, N.H., and Catherine Cartwright and her husband, Brian, of Veazie; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, where the Rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 31 Calais Ave, Calais, by Father James Plourde. Burial will be afterward at Calais Cemetery.
