Ed lost an arm and a leg at age 19 working as a railroad switchman in Chicago. He moved to Cadillac, Michigan and died there.
He is listed with his mother in 1930 Michigan census, as Edward T. Kerr (37, IL).
A picture of him and his family in 1935 mentions his prior farm and post office in Ballynabragget, County Armagh, Ireland. It shows him with his wife, an older and younger daughter, two young sons, and another woman (possibly as sister-in-law or sister).
