Charles Fenton, 83, peacefully passed away on January 14, 2021 in San Jose, CA. Charles was born on November 8, 1937 in San Francisco to Charles F. Fenton and A. Bernice Clark. He was the youngest of three children. Charles graduated from San Mateo High in 1955. Shortly after high school, he served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mexico City from 1958 to 1960. After some time in college, Charles joined the Air Force in 1961 where he studied electronics and worked on the radar and navigation systems for the B52 bombers. While stationed in Colorado, he was reacquainted with Cristina Galicia from Mexico City. They were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple for time and all eternity on October 19, 1963.
After an honorable discharge, Charles was offered a job at IBM in San Jose where he worked as a computer programmer for 27 years. His interests included all things electronics, photography, playing guitar, HO trains and genealogy research. Charles lived a very full life and was dedicated to his family and his church callings. He leaves a legacy of faith, love and happiness that will never be forgotten.
Charles is survived by his wife, Cristina, of 57 years and his five children Greg, Carla, April, Nancy and Jennifer. Plus ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. A graveside service will be held in his honor and memory at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose on February 12, 2021 for immediate family.
