He moved to Malone NY with his parents and came back to Georgia, VT to marry Margaret Skelly (1836 - 1905) on 6 May 1860, then he took her back to Malone. She was the daughter of William and Margaret Ann Skelly, b. Jan 15 1836 in Swanton Vermont. They had two children: 1st was Cora White b. Aug 31, 1861; 2nd a son John Ellsworth born May 11, 1863 Malone NY while he was at war. He fought in the Civil War as a Private in Company I 106th Regiment New York Volunteers. He mustered out June 22, 1865 as a Sargent. An affidavit filed with his pension papers said his wife deserted him and went away with one Hack Watson. Margaret went back to Georgia, VT with Watson taking Cora with her but leaving John Ellsworth with his grandparents.
John subsequently married Candace A Perrigo (1843 - 1926) on 25 Dec 1867 in Madison, Wisconsin.The White's moved to Wisconsin and John Kinney White Jr. Is buried in the Fassett Cemetery.
Cora grew up and married Ira Whittemore and had 3 sons; Clayton Harrison, Floyd Henry and Harold - who was illegitimate (Ira died in 1897 of Cancer of the neck and Harold was born more than 1 year after). Cora died in 1899 when Harold was two. He was put up for adoption and Clayton and Floyd went to an orphanage.
