Perry was a boatman on the canal prior to the war and was disabled when discharged. He was mustered in Oct 1862 and discharged in Sept 1863 at Washington DC due to disability.
They had four children. His wife preceded him in death and the younger children went with his wife’s family. One married and lived in Green Co. and one stayed with Ira.
