Calvin was the son of James and Sally (Briggs) Hill, and had a brother, Harrison H. Hill.
Calvin married twice; his first wife Mary A. died May 17, 1871 ae 27 yrs 8 mo 17 days. They had daughter, Gertrude (White), and Mary is buried with him in Sandy Knoll Cem. He and daughter Gertrude (14) are listed with his parents in the 1880 census.
Calvin Hill married his second wife, Maude A. Briggs on 24 Feb 1895 (she's buried with her 2nd husband, William Anderson, in Sandy Knoll cemetery). They had no children.
