Her first husband, Heman Hill died on 26 May 1924 and on 14 Sep 1925, she married Ralph N. Bassett, her second husband. She was his 3rd wife; and they had no children.
In August 1929, while in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, visiting relatives, Susan fell, broke her hip, was treated medically in Cornwall, eventually was brought to the Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone, NY, but never recovered and died.
