Joseph's wife's name appears variously in records. I previously had her name as Venah Broadhome. Tryphenia as her correct given name is a speculation. While there is no proof as to her maiden name, Broadhome is not a known surname in the area and possibly not anywhere. It appears likely that the marriage bond clerk wrote carelessly, that Joseph was illiterate and hence did not catch the error, and that the name probably was Braddock. Braddocks were in the area and were otherwise associated with Nutts.
