In 1900 he is listed as Daniel A. Rutan (50, GA) with his wife of 17 yrs Lida M. (41, NY) and son Karl A. (15, NY). For some reason, he has no occupation listed. It also shows only 1 of their 2 children still living.
The 1910 census for Oneida, NY lists him as a driver (59, SC) married once for 27 yrs, with only 1 of their 4 children living. With him is his wife Lida (51, NY) and a niece, Myrtal Rutan (27, NY).
They retired to Constantia, NY by 1920 where he 69, born in Georgia, with Lida M. (61, NY) and son Karl A. (35, NY) who is noted as married, but no one else is listed.
