Porch-LaPorge Wedding This Afternoon
An Interesting wedding of this afternoon was that of Mrs[sic] Amber Porch of this City and Clyde LaPorge of Cedar Rapids, taking place at the methodist parsonage of Iowa City, Rev. S. E. Ellis officiating, using the beautiful ring ceremony. The bride was attended by Miss Florence Conley of Cedar rapids and Mr LaPorge's man was Ralph Knolk, also of Cedar Rapids.
The bride was lovely in her wedding dress of dark blue beaded georgette and a large picture hat to match. Her bouquet was a corsage of bride's roses. Miss Conley was handsomely gowned in Black satin with jet trimming with which she were[sic] a beautiful black picture hat. Immediately after the ceremony a six-course wedding _____ was served to members of the families at the home of the bride, 172 Harrison street. The dining room was beautifully decorated in pink and white and the same color scheme was carried out in the dinner. Above the table was suspended a large white wedding bell. Mr. and Mrs. LaPorge left during the evening for a honeymoon to be spent in
the north. They will return about march 15, and will be at home in Cedar Rapids. Mrs LaPorge in the attractive young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Porch of this city where she spent her entire life. Mr. LaPorge is a popular mechanic of Cedar Rapids. Their many friends shower good wishes upon them on their lifes journey together.

Amber is shown as Amber LaPorte on the Johnson County (Iowa) Probate file for the guardianship of Amber and Floyd Porch - Roll 34 #2635 (actually the second #2635 on the roll) dated 25 Oct 1920. The probate file was opened back in 1915, and closed in 1920. Not sure who left the children the trust fund because it never says in the file.

Death Takes Mrs. Rea, 53
Funeral Services To Be Held Saturday for Iowa City Resident Mrs. Amber Rea, 53, of 21 East Harrison street, wife of R. C. Rea, traffic manager at University hospitals, died Wednesday afternoon at Mercy hospital, following an illness of several months. Born July 30, 1900, at Iowa City, she was a daughter of Floyd[sic] and Flora Porch. She married Mr. Rea in 1930, and the couple has lived here since. She was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving are her husband, two sons, by a previous marriage, Winston LaPorte of Kannapolis, N.C., and Donald LaPorte of Columbia, S.C.; her mother Mrs. Flora Porch of Iowa City and two grandchildren. Her father preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oathout funeral chapel, with the Rev. Elmer E. Dierks pastor of First Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Friends may call tonight and Friday.
She died of Cerebral Thrombosis.
Her children are later referenced as Donald LaPorte of Columbia, SC, and Winston LaPorte of Charlotte, NC, in her mother’s will.
