He is listed in the 1870 census as Prentis (28, VT) working in a saw mill, with his wife Mathilda (28, NY) and children Minnie (6), Anson (4), Stella (3), and Kitty (2).
With first wife Matilda Aldrich he had 4 children, Minnie, Anson, Stella, and Kitty. Matilda “Minnie” Aldrich, his first wife died May 7, 1875 ae 32 yrs.
His second wife, whom he married in circa 1898 in Wisconsin, was Mrs. Inez Perry. He lived in Wisconsin for a few years before returning to Northern New York.
