Family bible/letter says: James Connolley Simmons and Anne Copeland were married in Franklin Co, Kansas, Oct. 16, 1873. The Portrait and Biographical Record of Leavenworth, Douglas, and Franklin Counties...Kansas book: pp.559-560 says they had one child.
After his (2)marriage to Kate, he was also the Register of Deeds: Nov. 1892-96 and a State Representative for the 15th District 1895 and ‘97 and a Democrat. James was a Postmaster in Wellsville, Franklin Co, KS in Feb 1914. He died there on October 14, 1914.
