James N. Kerr, age 90, of Flat Rock passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, in his home.
Graveside service for burial of cremated remains will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, in Riverside Cemetery, South Rockwood, Mich. Military honors will be accorded under the auspices of the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard.
Born on Oct. 1, 1925 in Flat Rock, Mich., he was the son of Norman and Irlene (Tures) Kerr.
James served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a medical aidman.
He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in the Flat Rock area for many years until retiring.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brother George, who died in WWII, and an infant brother, Walter.
Surviving is his cousin, Carl Youngdahl of Naperville, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home.
