George Sporer
George M. Sporer, RD 2 Cherry Ridge Twp.. Honesdale, died Monday at Wayne County Memorial Hospital. His wife is the former Alice M. Lau. Born in Cherry Ridge Twp., son of the late John and Christina Robinson Sporer, he was a WW I Army veteran and a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Johns • St. Mary Magdalen Church. Honesdale. He was a member of Honesdale Council, Knights of St. George and a former Cherry Ridge Twp. supervisor. Also surviving are three sons, Ronald, Star Rt. Honesdale: Paul, Shady Lane, Honesdale; William, Honesdale: two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Therese) Rembecky, North Bergen, N.J.; Joan Sporer, Honesdale: 12 grandchildren: a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St.. Honesdale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from St. Johns RC Church. Interment, St. Mary
Magdalen Cemetery, Honesdale.
