Obituary - Unknown Newspaper, Aug 1909:
Miss Rhoda Maria Dix was born at Preston, Wayne County, Pa., June 30, 1839 and passed away Aug. 4, 1909. She moved from Preston, Pa. with her family to Big Rapids in 1869, and remained there two years, from Big Rapids she moved onto the farm at Riverside, in 1871 where she has since resided until her death. In 1854, she was married to Ziba B. Pease, at Preston, Pa., to this union nine children were born, 4 of whom preceded her to the better land, three in infancy and a son Charles who died in 1894, aged 19 years. A loving and devoted husband and five children, one son and four daughters survive her besides five brothers, three sisters, 27 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a wide circle of friends to mourn her loss. At age of 16 she was converted and united with the M. E. Church, at Preston, Pa. and afterwards transferred her membership to the Riverside Church where she remained true to her God and church and lived a devoted Christian life until the Master said "Well done thou good and faithful servant come up higher." Thus ends the earthly career of long and beautiful life. Farewell dear Mother, till we meet again where there is no sickness, no pain, no death and parting is no more.
