He was already living for a time in California when his father died in 1885, and was referred to as Bryant. Then listed as living in Stockton, CA in 1897 when his brother John died.

"Richard and Frank Huskins received a message, Sunday announcing the death of their brother Bryan Huskins at Stockton, California, Saturday, January 19th. The deceased formerly resided near Lone Tree and was the seventh one of a family of 12 children to be called. He was 59 years of age and leaves a wife and two children. His living sisters are: Mrs. Malin of Ainsworth; Mrs BoVee of Washington, and Mrs. J. S. Calvert of Lamont, Oklahoma. The brothers are Richard and Frank of this place."
