[Obituary] The Shelbyville Republican - Monday 6 February 1911, Pg 2 col 2
Miss Mary Esther Wells, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wells, died at their home in Waldron at 9 o'clock Saturday night, February 4, 1911, of a complication of diseases that arose on account of a growth in her side. She had been suffering only a short time, and her death came as a shock to the family. She was aged thirty-nine years and two months and besides her parents leaves four brothers and two sisters; William, Oliver, Richard and Morgan Wells, Mrs. James Woods and Mrs. Edgar Mann, all of this county. Miss Wells had been seriously ill only since last Thursday. Saturday she sat at dinner with the rest of the family and enjoyed the meal. In the afternoon she read the papers and was feeling almost as well as she had for many months until 3 o'clock when the illness that lead so speedily to her death manifested itself. She had always made her home with her parents and was a kind-hearted Christian girl, loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the S.D. Adventist church at Waldron, having recently changed her membership from the church of that denomination at Boggstown formerly her home. The funeral services will be held at the family residence in Waldron at 10 o'clock a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Thomas Hubbard officiating and interment will be made in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Stewart & Fix.
