Albert was a councilmen in 1887 and 1892 in Centerville (Slippery Rock) PA. His second wife is Sarah M. Kelly whom he married December 25, 1894 at New Wilmington, Lawrence Co, PA. He moved to Grove City, Mercer County with his second wife Sarah and her children, his daughter Eva and son Herbert both died in Grove City.

Martha Downs married Albert Hays Baker in 1867. They had children Frank Braden Baker (April 17,1867 - Feb 29,1916), Eva Jane Baker Offit (June 15, 1870 - Nov 13,1956) and Herbert Hays Baker (July 04,1878 - May 11,1917). In the 1880 census, he is listed as Bert, and she as Mattie (38). They are all buried in the Slippery Rock Cemetery Butler Co, PA along with Frank B. Baker and Margaret J. Bell Baker and nine of their ten children. There is a biography for William A. Baker (son of Frank Braden Baker) in the History of Butler Co Pennsylvania by C. Hale Sipe - in two volumes 1927.
Herbert Hays Baker had his back broken in an elevator accident in Pittsburgh, Pa when he was young and was in a wheelchair the rest of his life. He was 13 yrs old when his mother died and later was married and had one son.
