He married Cornelia (unknown) Abt. 1875 in Skullyville Co, Choctaw Nation, IT, OK. She was born abt 1860 in Skullyville Co, Choctaw Nation, IT, (OK), and died abt 1892 in Skullyville Co, Choctaw Nation, IT, (OK).
He was alive in the 1896 census but had died by 1899. According to some oral traditions he was shot over land. Robert had 6 children, Admona (Addie), Margaret, Loren, William, Czarina (Rena) and Martha Trahern, all of whom are Dawes enrollee's in the Choctaw Nation. His wife Cornelia died in 1891-1893. It is assumed he is buried in the family burial plot, as he was living there at the time of his death. His children did not have the money for a tombstone, and so his burial remains unknown.
