Misc. Notes
Married Jesse Brannon. Among records is a notice that when Jesse Brannon died or thereabouts he appointed Nathaniel Wilcox as guardian to his two youngest daughters - signed by George Dillon.
Her husband’s will names sons: Isaac, John and Jesse (called William Jesse), his daughters: Rachel Carey, Margaret MCCane, Elizabeth Brannon, Tabitha Brannon, Matilda Brannon. Jesse, Martha and Matilda were described as minors under 21 years of age.
In 1850 Anna was living with her daughter, Elizabeth (Brannon) and husband E.S. Jones - or maybe they lived with her? Census as follows: E.S. age 27 born VA., Elizabeth age 28 born Ohio, Mary M. age 17 born Ohio, Anna M. age 5 born Ohio, Mary F. age 1 born Ohio and Anna age 56 born Delaware.
After Anna died her daughter's husband, John Jones wanted her share of the farm and forced a sale. Anna died 1862 and sale was 1864. Daughter, Margaret Ann (Mckain) was obviously dead as her children are listed in place of her. Since E.S. and Elizabeth( Brannon) Jones are listed first, assume they lived on the farm and it was John's way of making them move on. E.S was a carpenter by trade. The sum that each person received was so small to break up a family over.
