Robert Lewis Wells, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 18, 2020. He was born on June 7, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert W. and Bertha Wells.
He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ.
He enjoyed watching sports, reading, traveling, golf and playing cards.
He retired from Marsh & McLennan Insurance Brokerage in 1997 after 60 years in the insurance industry.
He is survived by his wife, Esther C. Wells; children, Carrie Surface and Robert Wells, Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Katrena Hadley, Tom Surface, Jr., Amber Surface, Julian Ellis and Destiny Conner; 14 great grandchildren, Justice, Susan, Jasmine, James, Brent, Logan, Kal, Dominic, Benjamin, Mazoti, Trent, Annalya, Wyatt and Aria. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Beverly Suttner, grandson Robert Wells III and great granddaughters Jordan and Heaven.
Memorial Service will take a place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home.

She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Carrie Wells Surface and Robert (Sue Stinson) Wells Jr. 5 grandchildren, Katrena (Jim) Surface Hadley, Tom (Jamie) Surface Jr, Amber (Trent) Surface, Julian (Kristi) Ellis and Destiny (Zach) Wells Conner; 15 great grandchildren, Justice, Susan, Jasmine, James, Brent, Logan, Kal, Dominic, Benjamin, Mazoti, Trent, Annalya, Wyatt, Aria and Legend; brother, Jan Harlan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert Wells, Sr.; her grandson, Robert Wells III; and great granddaughters Jordan and Heaven.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm at St. Johns United Church of Christ on US 31, Indianapolis, IN.
