Robert L. “Bob” Colopy, age 87, of Fredericktown passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born on December 14, 1932 in Knox County, Ohio to the late Donald and Florence (Blanchard) Colopy. Robert was employed and retired from Therm-O-Disc as a Tool and Die Maker after many years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding horses. But most of all, Robert loved the time he spent with his family. He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hornet and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Delores (Leon) Johnson, Kathy (Gary) Braddock, Joyce (Donald) Crosby; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; his sisters, Margie Samples, Marilynn Arnold; and his brother Joseph (Jane) Colopy.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Carol Colopy; his sons, Jeffrey and Chris Colopy; his brothers, Donald and Richard Colopy; and his sisters, Regina Randall and Florence Heldenbrand.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 beginning at 1PM at St. Luke Cemetery in Danville with Deacon Tim Birie as officiant. Military honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council.
