Was Mrs. Osie (Dorothy) Billington of Olney at the time of her mother’s death, and in 2010 when her brother died.
In addition to children Pamela Dea (1951) and Osie Bradford (1955 ) Billington, they also raised the orphaned children of her brother Gerald after he and his wife died in an auto accident in 1967 - then adopted them about 1972.
She and Osie just celebrated their 60th anniversary in July 2007.

Dorothy J. Billington, 95 of Olney, passed away peacefully with her family beside her, on September 23, 2023, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital. She was born to Fred Herschel and Eliose “Ella” (VanFossen) Wells on August 28,1928. She married Osie L. Billington, on July 26, 1947, and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2017.
Dorothy was a loving and fun mother, who enjoyed being with family, cooking wonderful meals, and was an expert at baking angel food cakes, topping them with caramel frosting for each child’s and grandchild’s birthday. She considered family birthdays as “national holidays”. She enjoyed golf and tennis and was excellent at both, winning many local tournaments.
Her passion came later in life, when she became a Master Gardener, and a National Flower Judge. She served several terms as President of the Olney Garden Club, and as the advertising director for the Illinois Garden Club. As president, she was dedicated to the beautification of Olney through plantings of flowers and landscaping of many public entities. She oversaw the placements of the Blue Star Memorials in the Olney City Park and along Route 50. Her happiness was digging in her gardens and watching her efforts bloom.
She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and provided Sunday Service flower arrangements for over 10 years. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion for others for her children to follow.
She is survived by daughters, Pamela (Galen) Schwartz, Kim Billington of Olney, and Dixie (Jay) Gammon of Johnsonville. Grandchildren Sara (Doug) Korinek of Matthews NC, Justin (Jennifer) Schwartz of Fishers, IN, Jordan (Jackie) Billington of Olney, and Mitchell (Brooke) Billington of Decatur, IL, and Chris Jackson of Olney. Great-Grand Children Austin and Tyler Korinek, Bailey and Ellie Schwartz, and Brayden and Brock Diel; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Osie Bradford Billington; her parents and four brothers and three sisters.

Osie L Billington, 90, of Olney, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.
Osie was born on August 23, 1927 in Wayne Co., IL, the son of Charles Herschel and Lillian Corene (Blake) Billington.
He married Dorothy June (Wells) on July 26, 1947. She survives him.
Osie was the owner of O.C. Testing, Southern IL Oil Producers and Precision Exploration Drilling Company. He was the recipient of the 1992 Lifetime Achievement Award from the IL Oil & Gas Association. He coined the phrase, "The Search for Oil is Never Ending". He was a member of the Olney/Noble Airport Board and loved flying. He was a past President of the Olney Shrine Club, member of the Elks, Petroleum Club and the United Methodist Church. He loved to hunt, boat, fly, and spend time with his family and grand and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved to tell a good story. He loved helping people and local organizations. He will be dearly missed.
Osie served in the US Navy during WW II.
Osie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Billington of Olney; daughter, Pamela Schwartz and husband Galen of Olney; son, Osie Bradford "Brad" Billington of Olney; daughter, Kim Billington of Olney; daughter, Dixie Gammon of Johnsonville, IL: grandchildren, Sara Korinek, Justin Schwartz, Jordan Billington, Mitchell Billington, and Chris Jackson; great-grandchildren, Austin & Tyler Korinek, and Bailey & Ellie Schwartz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings including his twin brother, Amos.
Memorials can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Cremation rites were accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date.
