In 1920 he is listed as a cabinet maker with his wife and daughter, plus his nearly 6 year old nephew Raymond Wells.
He also worked as a Woodworking foreman at Patterson Field, Dayton OH. And he is listed (53, IN) as an airplane field mechanic in 1930, with wife Catherine (60, IN) in Dayton, OH.
In 1940 he is listed as a wood worker (63, IN) doing airplane repair at the government airfield, with his wife Catherine (75, IN).

Morgan H. Wells, 70, a resident of Shelbyville for many years, died at 12:55 Saturday at the Miami Valley Hospital at Dayton, Ohio. His home was a 49 South First Street, Fairfield, Ohio.
For 25 years he made his home at 232 West Pennsylvania Street in this city, and he was employed for many years as a woodworker at the old Davis-Birely table factory. For the past 24 years he had been employed at Patterson Field, near Dayton.
He was married to Kathryn Hoffman, of Shelby county, and the widow survives with a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Ochs, and two grandchildren.
Mr. Wells was a member of the First Methodist Church here, and funeral services will be held at the Loren H. Murphy funeral home in this city at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. W. E. Burkher and Rev. N. I. Schoolfield will officiate. Burial will be made at Forest Hill cemetery.
