Ruth Ellen Wells Miller, 82, Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013. She was born on August 24, 1931 to the late Ted and Serena Hemmer Wells in Beech Grove. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Miller; children, Richard M. Miller (Judy), Mark J. Miller (Lora), Matt J. Miller (Dora), Jean Marie Miller (Gary), Camilla Mauzy (Gary), Edith Marie Miller and Laura Simmons (Lee); brothers, Art and Danny Wells; sisters, Serena McKay, Lois Copeland, Mary B. Giumetti and Rosy Hayes; and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Rebbeca Ann Yager and Frances Marie Miller; and brother, Ted Wells.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, September 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Rd., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 25 at 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions are encouraged to St. Vincent DePaul.
