She is listed in the 1940 census as Forrest (60, IN) with Alvie (68, KY), who was still working as a traveling salesman for a writing paper company. Both of them had completed high school. Living with them is her widowed sister Maude McCoy (68, IN) and her widowed niece Zadel Whiting (50, IN).
