Earl Sporer
Earl G. Sporer, 1856 Fair Ave , Honesdale. died Friday in Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, after an illness. His widow is the former Zelda L. Martin. Born in Scranton, son of the late Frank M and Grace Davis Sporer, he resided in Honesdale most of his life and was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School. He was employed as a truck driver for the Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. for 32 years before retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Hogencamp-Schupper VFW Post 531 Honesdale, and St John-St Mary Magdalen Parish, Honesdale. Also surviving are a son, Edwin. South Canaan, a daughter, Mrs Catherine Sheeley, Winter Haven, Fla ; a brother, Frank, Buffalo, N Y ; 13 grandchildren, an uncle, George Sporer, Honesdale RD 2, nieces and nephews. A daughter, Margaret Moffitt, and a sister, Marjorie Wagner, preceded him in death. The funeral will be Monday at 9 30 a m from the Hessling Funeral Home. 428 Mam St , Honesdale, with Mass at 10 a m in St Mary Magdalen Church. Interment, parish cemetery. Viewing, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m .
