PLAYS HOOKEY; GETS WHIPPING; LEAVES HOME.
John Wells, the twelve year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wells, of Main street, Walkerville, left his home Friday evening about 5 o'clock to escape a whipping that was to have been given him for playing "hookey." The matter was reported to the police by the parents of the lad, who were greatly concerned. He was found as he attempted to board the eastbound 12:32 car at the station this morning. He was taken in charge and returned to his parents, where, no doubt, he received two whippings instead of the one he had been promised.
