His WWI draft registration in Reno states that his left leg was 4” short and that he was disabled in his youth. It also lists his birth as 1875, rather than 1874.
He was a Republican Legislator for Washoe County, Nevada in 1915-1916 and again in 1931-1932.
Listed in 1920 Reno census (45, CA) as a farmer living on Virginia Road, with his wife, son and daughter. Living next to him is his brother Herbert E. Walts (38, CA) and family.
He is listed as a farmer (55, CA) in the 1930 Reno census with his wife and two children, living on South Virginia Street.
Referenced as a Police Judge in a 1943 Reno newspaper.

Retired Reno Police Judge Dies at Home Guy W. Walts Funeral Rites Set Wednesday
Guy Webster Walts, Reno municipal judge for 13 years, died in a local rest home Sunday at the age of 86.
Judge Walts, who was born in Milford, Calif., Oct. 2, 1874, was a member of one of the pioneer families of this area. He had lived in the Reno vicinity since 1884.
He was graduated from Reno High School in 1894 and from the University of Nevada with the class of 1898. For eight years he taught school, at Genoa, Gardnerville, Eureka and Sparks, and was the first principal in Sparks, in 1906.
He and his brother, Fred and Herb Walts, then went into the land and livestock business in the Truckee Meadows.
OWNED PROPERTY
At one time they owned what is now the Reno Municipal Airport property, and the land lying between Virginia Lake and Plumas Street. They also owned the Donner Trail Ranch, Dog Valley Ranch and a great deal of other property.
Judge Walts was a member of the Nevada Legislature for two terms and in 1915 introduced and carried to passage in the Assembly the famous and far reaching six months divorce law, marking the advent of noted, liberal laws in Nevada.
In 1924, the year of drought, he headed the movement leading to the installation of pumps at Lake Tahoe and the resultant relief to some 326 stricken ranchers in Washoe Valley. He had the money raising undertaking of $42,000 that was necessary to complete this project.
Before becoming police judge, Mr. Walts was interested in mining and pursued those interests after his retirement from the bench in February, 1955. Mining interests included gold, uranium, zinc and tungsten properties.
SOCIAL SERVICE
From 1932 to 1942, Judge Walts worked for the state of Nevada as supervisor in the social service program. His territory covered the eight western counties.
He became municipal judge Dec. 31, 1942, when he was appointed to take the place of Judge A. J. Maestretti who became district judge.
Shortly after his retirement in 1956 he was cited for backing his car into another and driving without an operator s license. When the complaining witness failed to appear for the trial, Walts refused a postponement because his friends had gathered en masse in the courtroom. The case was dismissed by Judge Kirby Unsworth.
Mr. Walts is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Parker Walts; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Walts Ligon; a son William A Walts; two grandsons, Bill Agnus Ligon, Jr., and William A. Walts, Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Plath, and brothers Fred E Walts and Herbert E. Walts, and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Reno Lodge No. 14, IOOF, the Modern Woodmen of America and was a life member of the University of Nevada Alumni Association.
Funeral serves will be held at the Home Chapel of Ross-Burke Company Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. John T. Ledger, Trinity Episcopal Church, will officiate.
